Where Do Mosquitoes Breed?
Up to 80% of a mosquito‘s life cycle is spent in water. That means if you want to control your mosquito population, you need to get rid of any standing water in your yard. This is often easier said than done, though, so it can be helpful to get an expert’s advice.
Here are some places we’ve often found standing water that mosquitoes lay their eggs in:

How Do We Get Rid of Mosquitoes in Standing Water?
We get rid of the stagnant water attracting mosquitoes and their eggs with water-clear granules. The granules release either insect growth inhibitors or larvicides. At Ekoterra, we use Vectobac WDG, a BTI larvicide.
BTI (short for Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) is an environmentally friendly bio-pesticide with a low health risk. There are zero resistance and no known adverse effects to people, plants, or other animals. The CDC also reports that BTI is effective at killing mosquito larvae.
