How do you identify gopher infestation?
Identifying a gopher infestation involves recognizing both physical characteristics and behavioral signs. Here are some indicators of a gopher presence in your yard:
- Mounds or Tunnels:
- Gophers create mounds of soil as they dig tunnels beneath the ground. These mounds may be shaped like horseshoes or kidney beans.
- Look for burrow entrances, which are round openings serving as entry points to their tunnel systems.
- Vegetation Damage:
- Gophers are herbivores and feed on plant materials, leading to uprooted vegetation in gardens.
- Signs of damaged plants, including gnawed roots and clipped stems, may indicate gopher activity.
- Gopher Sightings:
- If you observe a gopher above ground, you’ll notice their stout bodies, short legs, and small eyes and ears.
- Gophers may be visible while foraging or moving between tunnel systems.
Identifying these physical and behavioral signs will help you determine if gophers are present on your property, allowing for timely and effective intervention to manage the infestation.

Are gophers harmful?

What attracts gophers?
Certainly, gophers are primarily attracted to properties for two main reasons: food sources and the opportunity to build underground tunnels. As herbivores, gophers feed on plant materials, including roots, bulbs, and various vegetation found on your property. The availability of these food sources makes your lawn or garden an appealing habitat for them.
In addition to seeking food, gophers are motivated to build underground tunnels for shelter and protection. These tunnels serve as their habitat and provide a safe environment for them to live and reproduce. The soil conditions on your property play a crucial role, as gophers require suitable conditions to create and maintain their intricate tunnel systems. Understanding these factors is key to addressing and managing gopher-related issues on your premises.

How much does professional Gopher control cost?
Every property is unique, presenting its own set of challenges. Therefore, it is crucial to assess the specific issues before determining the cost of our services. Pricing is influenced by factors such as the extent and size of the infestation, terrain considerations (including hardscaping and slopes), soil quality, and the necessary control methods.
Our pricing structure varies based on the chosen approach. Sub-Soil Baiting applications, starting at $195, are the most cost-effective and least labor-intensive option. Trapping may incur higher costs due to multiple trips for checking, clearing, and resetting traps, making it suitable for smaller infestations. Non-Toxic Carbon Monoxide treatments, although more expensive, prove highly effective, especially when combined with baiting or trapping.
Our standard service involves a two-pronged approach, utilizing two methods for comprehensive pest control. In some instances, larger jobs may require a three-pronged approach. To determine the most suitable method for your property, schedule a free inspection quote. Our technicians will provide precise pricing during the assessment, and if you approve, they can commence the service immediately.
